“Citizens are scared”, Mayor Maso testifies; Cancer cases to be monitored

From an April 8, 2010, story in the Dallas Morning News: “Frisco Mayor Maher Maso said some businesses have opted not to move to his Collin County suburb and sales contracts on homes have been canceled because of concernsFrisco Mayor Maso about emissions from a lead smelter near downtown.

His admission came Thursday during testimony before a Senate committee in Austin considering a bill (Senate Bill 1475 – Sate Sen. Florence Shapiro) to add a host of new regulations on the Exide Technologies Inc. battery recycling plant.” Also, testimony before the state Senate committee referred to a cancer cluster study being done in Frisco.
